    Auto Reverse Cam

As I was sitting here working on my center console I had an idea. I haven't implemented it yet, but I would like to switch my Lilliput to the aux composite input and automatically display the rear view camera input when reverse is engaged. Has anyone done this yet?

I've thought about it but shrugged off the idea as too hard to implement

It's not too hard to implement. Steal some of the 12V that activates your reverse lights and use it to power a relay. Make it such that the default position is the computer, and the powered position is the camera feed. Pretty simple actually. <this is if you use composite for both computer and camera>

If you want to use a VGA for the computer and composite for the camera, take that 12v you stole from the reverse lights, and wire it to a relay. You'll need to hack open the display and wire to whatever button selects inputs and connect it to the relay, probably with a small timing circuit since the button probably is really a pulse and not latched.

wouldn't it be easier to connect the video cable to the relay? so when power is put on the relay the composite signal from the camera is sent through instead of the signal from the PC (assuming your going through the composite input)
