    Head units: I just don't know :(

Well, before I start ordering my parts for my carputer, I need to get a new head unit.

I'm looking for something that's inexpensive, but not cheap, with AUX inputs (obvoiusly). Any suggestions?

My friends say that it's stupid to get a new head unit if I'm installing a carputer, but I'd still like to have radio and play regular CD's.

Look into the Aiwa units. I know those have AUX inputs (in the front via 1/8" stereo line in connection).

^ Yeah, but this is MY thought onto keeping a headunit.

What if I'm just going to the corner store? It would take probably less time to get to the store than for my PC to boot up. If I had a standard head unit, I could still listen to the radio or a CD w/o having to boot up the PC, for quick lil trips to the corner store, etc.

Or having something to listen to while the PC boots up. I don't have a CarPC yet, so I don't know how long it takes w/ like an Epia 1Ghz.

Word. Plus, for me to listen to the radio through the computer I would have to get a PCI card/USB device. And since I'm not planning on watching TV in the car or capturing the radio it will be just another device taking space of something I could get more use out of it.

I'm looking to spend between $100 to $200.

^ scan ebay for Aiwas. You can prolly get one cheaper, if you just want FM/AM/Tape...isntead of CD.

    yuck. aiwa.

go with the clarion 735mp. great sound with loads of features you WILL use and an aux input. 4 channel 4 volt output as well. i have the 835 mp and its the best i've ever owned.

there is a good price on it, yet you could scan ebay to. and this is an rca input, not a 3.5mm headphone one.

^ Is the AUX input on the rear?
I'd like one w/ that, to keep the face of my dash neat.
