    Post FV24 Boot Options

    Can someone who has a FV24 please test and see if it will boot to a Compact Flash Card Via USB? I want to build a system that boots really fast and then uses the hard drive for the music, etc.

    compact flash cards are very slow, eh?

    at least a lot slower than hard drives.

    and USB only gives you 12mbit/sec anyways, which means that you're limited to a whopping 1.5MB/sec... (and I have a compact flash adapter for my laptop and can get 500kb/s off it!)

    It'll take a lot longer to boot your computer off of that compared to a hard drive.

    I agree, I've tried it on the IDE bus and it was much slower.
