    Post LCD in Airbag

I have a 94 Integra and i was wondering if anyone has tried ripping out the passenger side airbag of a acura or a honda (basically the same), and place the lcd in there. ive seen many pictures in magazines of where people take out the airbag and put CD changers in there. all you do is push the airbag cover down and it springs open revealing the CD changer.

Does any1 know what the depth usually is in there? i would like to get a 6" or 10.4" LCD and place it in there...since acuras and hondas dont have any other place to put them.

Dont worry about the passenger....the seat belt will save them

i have seen an installation in a magazine where a guy fit a playstion in there...but usually the airbag compartment itself is normally 4-6 inches, and then under that is hollow space for about another 2-4 inches depending on the car... I still don't like the whole idea of taking out factory air bags to put stereo equipment in the car

You're thinking the same thing I am. I got a 94 civic and already installed a MOMO steering wheel so the whole SRS is usless so i was thinking of taking that thing out, but I can't find any way of getting to it. If you figure it out post it here or email me. I want to do this as soon as it gets a little warmer. Chicago rules but the winters are terrible to go through.

    kane2g,

its easy to remove the airbag system.
I bought a the Service Manual for my car and it tells me how to remove it.

Basically u remove the glove box and YOU MUST Disable the system first by unplugging it. and then it just says you can remove the mounting screws.

But go out and spend like $10 to buy the service manual for your car, its really helpful if you wanna tweak your car

Just so you know, removing the airbag from a car is a FEDERAL offense. Which means you WILL recieve jail time and a fine if you are found guilty. (This is a very hard crime to say you didn't know there was an airbag there).
I know a guy who removed his factory steering wheel (with airbag) and got pulled over for speeding. The cop realized the airbag was missing and he wound up getting 14days jail time and a $750 fine.

other then that, i have no opinion on this subject.
