    Celeron Vs EPia M10000

    Ok I am back on my Carputer Kick to hell with the Law, I can shut off the monitor pretty fast.

    Now the Big question I want a Boot time under 45Seconds and a fast switch time for songs (my m5000 had about a 2 second switch time per song with ME and Xp Pro)

    So here is the question

    Celeron Vs, M10000 Vs ????

    Suggestions ??

    I might add a DVD rom later or play some DIvxx Movies when Waiting for the GF to get off work.

    I think u might want to wait, there is another version of the m10k comming out soon even smaller than the current m10k called nano itx. Its more like 3 1/2"...check their site and u will c it...here http://www.mini-itx.com/news/computex2003-1/

    is thge new version faster or just smaller size is not a big issue I just need to be able to play my music.

    holy crap thats small! i wonder how much it would be... i could make a pc that fits in my cd holder with something that small

    The gap between songs is a function of the software you use, not your hardware. (Even a 486 is capable of playing MP3s with no gap if it uses the right software.)

    How fast of Celeron are you comparing to? I had a celeron 500 on an intel flex ATX board. Took the same memory, hdd, etc and moved over to an EPIA5000 (500MHz) and reinstalled XP clean and it was about 1/2 the speed. For example the 500mhz celeron took 30 seconds to boot XP and the EPIA took 1 minute. This was changing board and processor of course but I was a bit disappointed with the EPIA
