Bass hits causing my screen to dim...

Will running a big capacitor in line between the amp and battery help me?

When I turn the volume up very loud both interior and exterior lights do dim, yes. I was thinking of adding a capacitor a while back but wasn't bothered TOO much by the headlight thing. My new screen seems to be very sensitive to current though and so the bass makes it dim and flicker like crazy when it's up high.

All/most lcd/inverter cathode lights is pretty sensitive, I'd say change the charge-regulator for your generator to make it produce a bit mor juice... what car you got?

I have the same problem with my car. I have 3 amps and when I want to be a little bit loud my screens dims. I have a power cap 1.5 f and the external lights do not dim. I guess I need to change the IC for the power supply I built....

Here's an idea: don't turn it up so freaking LOUD!

OK, I just had to say it to get it outta my system. Yes, I know: "if it's too loud, you're too old." I guess I'm too old.

I was thinking the same thing about the battery. You might want to consider a Gel Cell battery. A friend of mine has one in his mustang. No carputer, but he runs some pretty hard hitting subs without a cap. by using it.

I have an acura integra and yeah I was considering getting a new battery, or possibly even and additional battery. If I run a 2 plug power inverter off the cig lighter socket and then use an AC adapter for the screen will that change anything? I'm also gonna be running the laptop off the inverter. I'm considering directly wiring it to the battery though since I don't know what guage all the wires are from the cig lighter to the battery so I'm not sure if running both of that socket would be wise. Any suggestions?

P.S. Any particular numbers (wattage etc) I should look for when getting an inverter?
