Best Motherboard w/ More than One PCI Slot

First, I am glad that I found this site. For a long while, the idea of the computer in my truck seemed like a crazy idea that only a nut such as myself would consider. I am glad to see that I have found others.

I am planning the development of my truckputer. For me, one of the main items other than being a MP3 player and GPS navigation system is to use it as an electronic gauge set for monitoring my diesel engine. In order to do what I want, I need a motherboard with two PCI slots on it to start.

Does anyone have recommendations on a motherboard they have used in a car with more than one PCI slot?

    Thanks.

I don't see how what you spoke of needs more than one PCI slot... can you elaborate? maybe you're mistaken... that said, there are many micro ATX motherboards with multiple PCI slots. There are so many of them it'd be a little stupid to reccomend a particular one. There are probably 30 of equal utility.

i know that the epia10000 has only one PCI slot, but you can buy an adapter that will allow two...I think!

based on my (limited) understanding of the bus, that sounds impossible. would be cool though

    From www.casetronic.com

I don't see why somebody would need 2 PCI slots for a carputer considering that almost everything is made for USB now.

You can do it as long as your PCI devices don't mind being bus slaves. If you have two bus mastering cards plugged in nothing's going to happen.

well do you want AMD or intel? do you need onboard video or AGP? onboard sound or PCI? there are alot of things that are un answered here to recommend a MOBO. Micro ATX might be your best bet as far as form factor.

Wouldn't an ODB-II decoder make more sense? They plug into the USB port and provide all of the realtime info from the trucks computers. I've got mine working with a Chevvy 6.5l turbo diesel.
