Best motherboard/graphics combination for carputer gaming?

I drive a 1998 Chrylser Town & Country LXi minivan so I'm not going anywhere fast. Consequently, I'd like to be able to play racing games in my car when I'm not driving or let passengers play when I am driving.

    Planned parts list:
    1x Lilliput 7" VGA LCD w/ Touchscreen
    1x Opus 150W DC-DC Power Supply
    1x Seagate 40GB Barracuda IV 7200RPM
    1x DVD-ROM
    ...

What I'm trying to find is a good motherboard/graphics card combination for the carputer that will let me play Need For Speed: Underground and other racing simulators. I currently play such games without problem with an Athlon XP1600+, 512MB DDR, and a Geforce 2 64MB card on my desktop.

Are any of you familiar with a motherboard with a high quality integrated video chip with similar perforamce to my Gf2?

    or

Can you recommend be a small form factor or mini-itx (just something small) motherboard with an AGP port? (and an AGP 90 degress riser if you know of one)

    Thanks,

    el bob

    Bob,

The Shuttle MN31N motherboard is a good one for that. It is microATX form factor, and has built in GeForce4MX graphics. It is an Athlon motherboard and takes up to the fastest Athlon XP chips. The chipset is the nVidia nForce2 with the 6 channel sound, integrated LAN, USB2, and FireWire. It's a pretty sweet board for it's size and price: $85.

I bought one a couple months back when building a small form factor PC for my cousin. It a nice unit. I don't have anything bad to say about it.

Also, if you want a smaller board and a cool looking case, check out Shuttle's XPC's. They've got flexATX motherboards in them, and there is a model equivalent to the MN31N, but I can't think of the model number right now.

    Later,
    Tom
