what are you planning on displaying on the LCD?
btw, is that a STI?
Thats a damn good idea!!! Nice!! I wish I would have thought about that.
New CarPC on the way again I think. I miss my old one!!!
It's my friend box I built for him so he can decide what to display in his USB Crystal Fontz Char LCD. Probably just uptime and temp.
Yes, I got my STi in August 2003.Lovn it.

couple quick q's:
- u took the carpet off the bottom i asume..
- does the wood make the pc get any hotter? (since wood doesnt conduct heat very well, and wouldnt like disperse the heat.. )
Im thinking of buying a box or making one from MDF or something....

The carpet is still on the bottom.
Most sub boxes have carpet still ont he bottom. It prevents the carpet on the trunk from being torn up.
The wood does not conduct heat as well as my Lian-Li black brushed aluminum case I use for my home PC. But I did install a nice 8" fan on top to pull fresh air in and push it out the back.
I donno why I used a AC cord as a quick disconnect. I just hope someones not dumb enough to plug it into a wall.I have ground/turn on lead/and 12 volt car battery going through it.
The other connector is tapped into the power button wire that goes from the ITPS to the mobo. You can bypass and shutdown PC if you need to.
Here's my Micro ATX P3 1Ghz inside my trunk in a 10" Sub box I made 1 1/2 months ago. I currently use this in my trunk now. It has a KeyPower PS in it.

The boxes are temporary and have been now screwed/bolted down to the wood floorboard.
I'm getting a custom 10" sub box and making a new carpc box soon.
Here's a shot in the dark:
Notice also I did not spray paint and cut as much wood as I should have.

Nice. I think I just may use one of those boxes for my setup. I'm sure you're enjoying the STI, I have a friend with an EVO and another friend with a S4 with about 400HP. I have a supercharged VW gti VR6 and love it to death. I've been thinking about an R32 but I'm cheap and don't want to spend the money. It's been nice not having a huge car payment.
