    Small Amplifier

Can anyone suggest a small amplifier? I need something as small as possible, the power is not all that important, I just need to be able to power some factory speakers in a corolla at a reasonable volume. Specifically, I am looking for something that will fit, with a mini-itx board in a car DIN (say about 10" deep, in this case). Thanks!

check out navone engineering (www.davidnavone.com). He makes 2 channel and 4 channel amps that can power door speakers. Look in the line drivers section.

    Good luck

I needed to do the same thing as you and what I did is went onto ebay and bought a 300w 4ch pyramid amp for $39. I did have some grounding issues but I'm not sure if that had to do with the quality of the amp. I just ran up to Best Buy and told them my problem then the guy gave me something like a ground loop eliminator and when I hooked it up to the RCA's it worked fine.

I can't seem to find the product right now, I'll continue looking and edit the post if I find it. But I have seen a PCI card that is an audio amplifier. Seems to me it was something like 40Wx4. It was designed to be used with multi-channel sound cards to remove the need for external amps. I think I saw it on Tech TV origianally, but couldn't find it. Like I said, still looking.

EDIT: Well per usual, right after posting I found what I was talking about. It was called CardAmp: http://www.tomshardware.com/video/20...iotrak-04.html It really doesn't use a PCI spot, just some power from the power supply. It's really 2X20W and was about $100 US. sorta expensive for what it is but very small. The makers website: http://www.audiotrak.de/eng/ no longer has any info on it or new versions, but you might find something similar somewhere.

    Cool

Here are a few I found while searching. The Yamaha sounds awesome. Pricey, but probably worth it, especially if you need a sound card to replace your onboard sound as well.
