    "Head Unit" Case?

I was was thinking of fabricating a din and a half case from pref. Alluminum,

but it's turned out to be a real pain in the ***. My question is this, has any

one used their hollowed out head unit as a case and installed a computer in

    there?

I have not. I would think if you had a metal brake (break?) (used to bend large pieces of sheet metal) and a pop riveter/spot welder it wouldn't be that hard. I myself am going to have to re-fabricate the entire center console dash piece since the people who owned the car before me broke off all the tabs that hold it together when they put in a stereo.

I did it in a 1-din Clarion CD player. There are pics on my website. www.bradleyjacobs.com
