run the system using the rca outs, and send them directly to the amp. then remove the wires to the factory speakers from the harness, and connect the speaker wire from the amp in their place. OR buy a new head unit.
I have a (Used) Clarion DRX8175 CD stereo with the all powerfull RCA Inputs in the back. I tried to install it the other day and found out that the amplifier inside the stereo is blown.
If I hook the wires up to an EQ or an amp or something I get sound but I'm woried about the quality.
What's my best way to get around this? Do I buy a new stero? Do I use the RCA pre-outs to go to an amp and forget the other wires? Or do I hook the wires up to an EQ/Amp and hope it's not crackly?
And is there a possibility that I can Replace/Repair the amp inside the stereo?
I was so excited when I found out this stereo had the RCA In's. But I'm not sure what to do now.

I did some testing.
There's a switch on the botom of the stereo to change one of the 3 RCA outs to in. If it's switched to out then all 3 sets work. If it's switched to in the only one works. (Plus the in I hope...)
I could do that but that would give me zero control over balance and fade.
By the way, Does anyone have a small EQ/Amp they want to sell? If it's cheaper than buying a new deck, I just might do that.

An EQ won't help you any, unless it's an amplified one (which are fairly rare). Any budget amp will probably be better than your HU amp.
