Panasonic or Kenwood MP3 players
I thought I heard that Kenwood and Panasonic might be making a car MP3 player. Does anyone know anything about this? Hopefully it won't be CD based.

Damn! When will they learn that people don't want CD's to carry around!!
I still want to play CD's. I just want a player that I can plug a USB Hard Drive into the back. That way you have the best of both worlds. Plus an easy way to bring your HD inside to swap songs.
If Kenwood and Panasonic were smart they'd have people reading these Bulletin Boards to see what all the geeks out there want in an mp3 player!

Gathering parts for carplayer v2.0!
I am not sure why these big stereo companies don't build a mp3 carplayer. Like you said, if they would open their eyes and check out all or these websites dedicated to building one product, they would see what many people really want.
And, I don't consider myself a geek, I just want to solve problems. I don't want CD's in my car and nobody has a product that suits my needs for the right price, so I might build my own.

rockford fosgate sells a 8card mp3 changer and kenwwod has there z919 that plays cd's & mp3s..
