man, that's crazy. Does anyone know how these stack up to the Via Epia M10000's? I'm trying to decide on a motherboard/processor right now.

    Hey folks, newb here.
I bought this board and I have to say that it's definitely worth $5.00 plus shipping. I can't compare it Epia motherboard since I don't own one, but this motherboard/CPU combo handles XP really well. One downside is that on-board video is pretty bad... DVD playback is choppy and eats up 90% of the CPU resource. So plan on using a separate PCI video card (I use ATI Radeon 700 myself).
BTW: the actuall CPU frequency is 800Mhz at 133FSB.

    Syntax - S8601MP

The Syntax - S8601MP costs $10 after rebate, but has a smaller footprint and has 3 pci slots. Has anyone seen this one?

    Good catch.

As with everything, it depends on what you want to do with the board. I don't want to spend a boat load of money, but I know that I want to have usb 2.0, firewire, pcmcia to pci adapter, and a small board with low power consumption. I guess I am leaning towards the epia board. I was adding up all of the cost and with this board, pci usb 2.0, firewire, pcmcia adapter, etc, it seems better to just pay a little extra and get an epia mII 10000. IMHO at least I wouldn't have to wait for a rebate check that may not arrive for 3 months (if it arrives at all). If you don't want all the bells and whistles, this should be a pretty good deal.
