    Internal Line Driver Question

I'm putting my pc in the lower hatch part of my camaro. I don't want to run any RCA's to the front of the car, but I need a way to control the volume of the audio and the bass gain. I know I could do the bass gain by using a particular amp or crossover, but the problem is the main volume. I'm assuming that line drivers change the volume by varying the voltage with a potentiometer. If I were to take apart a line driver, or crossover with one built in, could I extend the leads to the pot and remotely mount it up front? Or, does the audio actually travel through the pot, in which case this would add alot of noise to the system? The only other option I've been able to find is the Audio Control Master Volume Control, but frankly I think it's a big waste of money for something as simple as it is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it does - noise could be an issue. This might allow remote mounting of the knob: External Digital Volume Control ? but I don't know if he ever finished it. Email him and find out!
