Post Mounted my Sharp 10" today.

I did a lot of research on how to mount the $300 touchscreen that I bought. Since the thing is built like a tank, it weighs a lot and is pretty thick too. The weight of the screen is 5lb 8oz and I wanted something that could be maneuvered around a bit. After doing some more research I came across www.jottodesk.com They sell a stand that you can set a laptop on that can hold up to 12lb. You can find them for around $135 which is expensive but worth it in my opinion.

Today I mounted the jottodesk in my Altima and that went pretty well. I then took the ABS plastic desk surface off the jottodesk and bolted the metal mounting bracket to the back of LCD case. it worked out great.

I now have a mount that can be moved around if I want. The jottodesk is built really well in my opinion.

Now I need to figure out where and how to mount my eMap.

Just thought that this would help somebody that was in the same situation as me.

Do you have any pictures Cameron? I am curios to see how you arranged it! Can you easily remove it, or hide it to prevent theft?

    Thanks!

Sorry I don't have any pictures. It would be really easy to take this thing off. I think that the thing that would take the most time would be disconnecting the power, vga, and serial cables if you wanted to remove the whole thing.
