The ports that come installed and ready to go. One of them is not working. Something special I need to know or did I get screwed? just a little mini-itx

it was new. how long can you get IDE cables. I think I might just puss out and mount a dvd drive in my glove box if I'm gonna have to keep screwin with it. I'd copy the install CD to the USB external HD I have but the USB port isn't working and the other one is for my touch screen interface. damnit!
You may be using to long of a cord. With my setup I have this problem while running anything that doesnt have an external power supply. my external HD wont run on the USB ext. cord not will my Lan adapter or anything besides my mouse an keyboard for that matter. Get your self a powered USB hub, or just try connecting it right at the port it self.
Another option is to get better ide cable....80 pin is key from what i have read. There is a guy on here selling custom length 80 pin IDE cable....for like a dollar a foot. there have been people who have ran 80 pin cable 15 ft to the trunk and things worked fine.....
But a powered USB 2.0 hub would probably be ur best bet....hope that pw70 PSU uve got can handle it....
