Is the XM-PCR worth the cost

Is XM-PCR worth the cost and can you still get local radio. Also is this intergrated in to media car or media engine yet. Just curious thinking about getting it and doing away with the Head unit. I was not at all satisfied with the d-link.

I think the XMPCR is worth it. The d-link is nothing more than a headache. XM has very few commercails, tons of channels and great reception (don't use the antenna that comes with the PCR). XM does not have local radio, other than a few California top 40's stations however they do have separate channels for weather/traffic in most major metro areas. Check out XM's website for availability.

XMPCR is great. I got it for $30 after rebate. It is not integrated into media engine yet, but there is a program that was made for touchscreen users. You can find a link to it here:

I splurged and bought an optical output mod that I plug into my Audigy via toslink cable and I got a blitzsafe omnidirectional antenna.

I am receiving an XM-PCR from MeanGT sometime this week, so that I can write some code for it, which will I will be sending to coyote, hopefully for integration into MediaCar. Until he integrates it, however, you should be able to use it as a "standalone" app, much like I have for the FM radio using Radiator
