    Question Confused with my new Apple Slot DVD drive, PPLS HELP!!

    I recently purchased a Apple SR 8187-B DVD slim slot drive to use in my system I am building. After getting the adapter I was finally able to try it out. The drive works, mechanically...however it wont read any discs. Win XP sees the drive and the mouse cursor turns into a disc spinning when used, but the disc just spins and nothing happens, win explorer wont show whats on the disc. I am fearing a bad laser, pls tell me I need a driver or something...any ideas?

    Just get a new drive. 2/4 of the ones i bought on ebay were dead.
