    Question how to get rid of noise??

    right now, i've got my mp3player hooked up to a preamp, what goes to my head unit. there's this annoying constant ringing noise that becomes more obvious when the song has silence or low volume sections. i tried a ground loop isolator, but it just introduced an annoying buzz instead.
    help!

    There's many previous discussions about this that you should look up. Make sure everything is grounded to the car, including the computer chassis.

    Get an RF choke from Rat Shack and rap the rca cables and power supply cables in separate chokes.

    This sounds like what my Trackz! unit does in the car.
    I have also noticed that it does this other places when the power supply isn't to it's liking.
    I think it has to do with the power.
    Your's might too.
    It sounds almost like the high voltage section coming from an older television doesn't it.
