People at Radio Shack generally don't know much about electronics.
You may want to give a try to one of the pre-made units. I've seen such things offered to fool a dumb carjacker to think there is a car alarm installed. Otherwise, you would need to find a diagram and build a circuit to do what you need. It is not as simple as connecting things in parallel.
