    exactly.

    The lilliput needs the AV/PC button pushed once to switch to V1 when you put it in reverse and then it needs two more button presses to get back to VGA

    In case you do not already know this camera is horrible to use in the car. I have one in the third brake light of my vette. The picture is ok at best but within 2 minutes of the sun being on it the screen white washes. I know a couple of other people that have used the same camera with the same results. White wash is a common problem with cameras especially cheap ones. I have a new camera that will not fit in the brake light but should not white wash. I have not had a chance to install it yet.

    I was putting together a parts list for this thing.
    http://www.freewebs.com/billymcbunter/

    Parts List
    PIC16F84
    Resistors: 100K, 2K, 3K

    Caps: 2->100pF, 3.3mF electrolytic

    1N414B
    1N4148
    BC549
    LM7805

    Relays: 2->5/6v

    Is there any substitution I can make for the 1N414B? It is really hard to find. The only places that have them (that I have found) take bulk orders only. In fact, I can't find the BC549 either. Any ideas?

    Would this work with a Xenarc?

    Just curious as I am about to instal my Carputer and plan to add a Camera in the future. Also, would it be possible to get a pre-programmed pic for those that do not have a PIC programmer?

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Xenarc has the auto switch feature built in (on the AV2 line), so you don't need one.

    I ended up ordering a relay with the diode built in. I think the 1N414B is a typo and should actually be a 1N4148. Not only that, the first relay really should be a 12V relay since it is taking a 12V signal to switch it. I am still in the process of building this thing. I have had immense problems but then I don't know much about electronics so I have been having to feel my way through it. I was also told the transistor (Q1) should be changed to a common emitter configuration rather than an emitter follower configuration. I didn't get it working either way but I may have been struggling with other issues.

    Has anyone ever succesfully built one of these? If you have and are willing to offer advice please PM me. I have about 16hrs spent on this with nothing to show for it yet (except a better understanding of things like, PICs, PIC programming, 7805 voltage regulators, transistors and such.)

    Edit: I also replaced the BC549 with a more commonly found one. BC547B.
    And I replaced the stabalizing caps with .22uF and .1uF

    Is there no other option other than pressing a button on the screen to switch modes?
