Post Help on Clarion DRX 9175 (R) Head-Unit

    Hey Guys,

Last weekend, my car got broken in, and they stole my headunit. (Sony CD, which I was going to replace, 'cause it didn't have any inputs, I'm happy they left my amps, speakers, leather jacket, cd's and many more untouched, so the damage is not that big)

So last day I went to the local car-audio-dealer where I saw a used Clarion DRX9175 (r) Head-unit, for like 80$ (new is something around 800$ I believe. It's 1,5 years old)

I already know that this is an passive head-unit, so it would need amps, that's not the problem, 'cause I got them already.

I noticed that the head-unit has a optical connection but I don't know yet if this is an input or an output. (i'm hoping for an input, than i would buy a soundcard with a optical output)

When I surfed the web to find some information, I got very little..

Only some information that the head-unit is able to control external EQ's/DSP-unit's and CD/MD changers. (it has 2 round connectors.. one large and the other one a bit smaller.. don't know the number of pins yet...)

But if the optical connection is not an input, how would I get audio from my computer into the deck ??? (and is this very hard to do ?)

I hope, that maybe you guys have some information about this, or, give me some lead where I have to search.. ( I have searched the net, but found very little. )

    Thanks in Advance,

    Greetz

I read somewhere that this head-unit was able to control external EQ's/DSP's, and also MD/CD-Changers

It has these 2 connectors, maybe I can use one off them ???

    What do you think ?

    Thanks in Advance,
