Digital Sound Control for the Via M10000

Can you control your volume via the VIA(i couldn't resist

)? I plan on using the Onboard Digital Coax out from the M10000 and running it a Surround Sound DSP such as the Alpine or Clarion and then run each channel to an amp. But would it be possible to control the volume through the software such as media car

More directly... is it possible to adjust the volume through the volume control in windows when you are using digital out(especially in regaurds to vias onboard sound).

I searched and found threads that support bothe yes and know and would like a difinitive answer

Was the the Via pun. Alright... I admit it was cheesy but please please respond if you know if the gain of digital sound can be controled through the computer
