the radioshard from griffin is coming, I'll look at that USB solution when the finally release it. AM/FM, instant recording. that will do the trick for me I think.
in the meanwhile, I have a radio unit on my car for AM radio.
You can get Cadet PC Radio very cheap (much cheaper than ebay) here:
http://www.meritline.com/adscaddatrad.html
Regular Price: $7.20 Meritline Price: $6.50

The griffin looks like the best so far, but here's my wish list for
USB audio connection (like radioshark)
External antennae connection (?)
standard, stereo and high definition broadcast support (?)
Also, I dont know what OS you're running, but the old isa cadet is from the win9x days, does it even have software for win2k/xp?

I an adapter was made, the Kenwood KTC-HR100 could be used. I think it does AM, FM, Digital and Analog all in one box.
I would rather use the Cadet. I don't understand why Media Engine does not support the card. I have talked to ADS Technologies and they would make a new version of the card if they felt it would sell. They have a Win2K SDK for the card. So it seems like the obvious choice.
I would donate if it supported the XMPCR and Cadet AM/FM card.
This card is also on amazon.com .... it does NOT support 2000/xp ... the closest thing is a SDK for windows NT which should work with 2000/xp theoretically.... here's the download page in case anyone wants to check it out:

also.. has anyone seen this?:
http://www.directpc.ca/home-multimedia-pc.ref
all these htpc's support am/fm, anyone know what they use to get the am capability? the pc is made by msi ... but i can't seem to find any info at all on the way it acquires the am/fm radio:

ok... sorry for all the posts... but i think i have an am/fm radio solution... check this:
http://www.pimfg.com/product_detail.....txt&web_spec=
if that doesn't work go to http://www.pimfg.com and in the description search box at the top put 'radio' ... this is a serial am/fm radio for $18.75 !!!!!!
it is supported by this software:
http://www.sagebrush.com/vcradio.htm
i think this is awesome. if it interfaces by serial it can't be hard to write some software to control it.
this radio unit is made by gemtek .... which is the same company that apparently makes the dlink usb fm radio... radiator also seems to support it ( serial port adapters GemTek RadioMan) but does radiator have any am option? i haven't used it and when i try to run it after installing i get an infinite amount of access violation dialogs until i kill the process manually :P
