WRX owners. Clock or Boost Pod Gauge area. Center channel Speaker.

Do you think, I can mount a small speaker to face up towards the window for a small center channel?

The sound will reflect off the glass and above the LCD fora anice center channel effect right?

Well, only one way to find out. I knew I should have ran 1 more speaker cable....

This is for 5.1 Digital SOUND from my Sound Blaster Audigy 2NX.

You should never point the speaker away from you. That will lower the sound resolution because of the reverb. If your going to do this point it directly into the passenger area. Becareful when picking a center channel speaker though because it can easily throw the entire system out of balance and make it sound awful. I havent done much research on speakers for cars but what I've said holds pretty much true for home theater. Good luck on that, if it works out I may do the same thing in my clock pod.

I don't have 5.1 sound in my Eclipse, but it was an option. The center speaker mounts in the top of the dash facing straight up. I know, because I have to cut out the mount in order to put my CDROM in my clock pod. If it works in the Eclipse's factory setup, I'm betting it will work for you.

Pointing the speaker away from you is the whole principal behind the Bose direct reflecting speaker systems. My Bose 901s make excellent sound for the listening room at home. Each cabinet has one 4 in. speaker pointing forward and eight pointing to the rear at angles, which are meant to reflect off of the wall behind. This is so that you can have multi-channel sound that seems to come from no particular direction.

I think this principal would also work well in the car, with a speaker in the dash pointing up to reflect off the windshield and into the cabin. In fact the Infinity system in my old Dodge has several little speakers in the dash that all point straight up to reflect off the windshield.

I dont really like bose speakers. They put processing in them and it "livens" the sound and makes it brighter. To me this doesnt sound good at all. But i know some people like it.

If you have 1/2 DIN available somewhere you could always go this route:

Clarion 1/2 DIN Center Channel Speaker
