If your gps software comes on whenever the car is running, and saves the track whenever you shut down, then it is easy.
There are items you can buy that do this, but they aren't cheap.

I am considering installing a GPS in my car, and i would like to know is there a way to find where it is. For example if my bro takes it "around the block" and doesn't show up for 2 days, can i track him. The only thing i have seen is something that you have to take uot of the car and it tells you where it has been, but i would like to know where it is at a certain point in time. sort of "big brother" over my car, also cool security feature.

ok, this will require a cellular modem and unlimited wireless internet access. I see that you live in Chicago, check out the big electronics shops (best buy, circuit city, office max, etc) and see about a Merlin wireless Cellular Modem. They are $200, plus $60 a month for unlimited access. from there, you set up a web page and have your carputer update the webpage with map from your GPS software as often as you like--every 10 seconds, every 2 days, whatever.
this guy did it at one point, but I dont know if his still works. http://www.magicnet.net/~qzar/
