no one has any input? I'm just wondering why no one has done this before, seems like an easy way to get rid of security issues and glare issues....
I've been working on designing a mounting system for my monitor- an indash 6.5" in a 2-Din opening. I've been designing a bracket in emachineshop that I can mount the monitor to securely, and an idea popped into my mind. Does anyone have their screen recessed into the dash? I've got a prototype going of a screen that is recessed in the dash (adjustable by a servo controlled by the computer) that can move forward/backwords as needed if glare gets bad, and this also allows for a stock-looking panel with fake heating/ac and the "faceplate" of the stock deck on it to be placed in front of the screen when not in use to protect/hide it. Is there anything I'm not thinking about with this setup? There is plenty of room behind the dash, and the seats are close enough together so that both driver and passenger can see the screen when it is recessed into the dash....

Seems like it would be worth looking into. I am noticing that my Stang will not be very user friendly when the sun comes out. Might be something for me to think about.
