I saw one that was made for this purpose but I can't remember where I saw it. Sorry about that.

But I don't know of any PC cams that have low light or are weather proof. Try some electronics stores websites. They might have some

I think you'll be in for a good hunt to find a low light web cam. they can barely produce a decent image in regular light. I just ordered this one http://www.digitalww.com/camBA.htm for my setup. I will have a spare video in on my monitor, but a usb video in adapter would open up your possibilities quite a bit.

The best, easily available low-light webcam that I've come across is the 3COM Homeconnect USB webcam. The auto low-light adjustment feature works very well and gives me a decent picture while other webcams I've used would show a faint grainy picture. Unfortunately, 3COM has stopped producing this model but you can still find it on eBay

This is the one that I bought. Its nice because its weatherproof, its flush mounting and its already enclosed in a metal enclosure.

I very much doubt you'll be able to find a good webcam that has nightvision capabilities, and is weatherproofed. That's simply not the market webcams are made for.

Your best bet is to go with a USB->Vid-In adaptor like Cryogen said. There are cams on ebay that have IR LEDs surrounding the camera. When it's light out, it's just a normal color camera.... but when it's dark, it runs in IR mode.

ya i got the same as king_aero it works very well during the day u can see very well out of it. at night it trys to compensate for the light and u can see ok if their are streetlights its viewable , but not the best. the ir ones are bulky and i really dont have any where to put it. the regular color ones are good because they fit right in the thrunk key hole, if u dont mind using the keyhole tehn its a nice clean stealth look.

Yah I am going to mount it in the trunk key hole. What would be the best cam to use with a USB->Vid-In adaptor? These type of cameras would have to be powered from an external source then right?

How do you mount the camera in the keyhole? Is there a guide for this?
