    Post 2 Audio Cards

    Hi,

I am interested in using Winamp and GPS tracking on my car computer. However, the voice prompts won't work when winamp is running. I would like to know if it is possible, under windows, to have 2 sound cards, and split the audio, winamp to one card, and gps to another. I would like to seperate the GPS to be the sole user of that card, and just run a single speaker to hear the voice prompts. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanx
    Mike

There should be no hardware problems in running to soundcards.

And winamp allows you to select soundcard, which means even if the GPS software doesnt work you can just configure winamp to use the other one.

I remember seeing a post like this around earliere, so you might wnat to do a search on it

I think you can set up winamp to use a certain sound card. I know I've run two sound cards at once and set programs to use one or the other. You could probably also use windows settings and set one card for wav out and the other for mic in.
