lcd help
http://www.jarcom.com/inmotion/order.htm
Hi again. I saw this LCD on a webpage from mp3car.com and it was selling lcds (20x4) for 105 that plug straight into your parallel port with no soldering or anything. Have any of you guys had a good experience with this, or used it before? I am kind of curious about it, any feedback would be welcome. Thank you.

Well I got the Matrix Orbital 20x4 which has a serial interface and has a very nice backlight and software contrast control. It's $82 at http://www.linuxcentral.com

does that orbital require a different plug in for winamp, or does it come with the software needed to use it for mp3s?

Variable Bitrate
Inmotion's LCD (the 4x20 $105 ) is parallel and the Optex is serial . I dont know of any serial software for winamp. Mp3sound.com also sells LCDs. So does kiwiLCD

There is a general plugin for winamp that does serial port control and also outputs data to the serial port for serial lcd's. I will dig up the url and post it soon.

I think xa0s may have a ready made plugin URL for you, but I programmed mine myself cause I'm using it in Linux. It's come with a spiral bound set of pages explaining what commands to send to draw stuff on it. It's very easy to use.
