    momentary switch

i know someone posted something about this before in another thread, but i couldn't find it again....

i'm soldering a momentary switch into the docking station for my laptop. what type of connector(s) can i use inline with the wires for the switch? i want to have the option of taking the docking station out of my car as well. will something like a 1/8" audio connector work?

I'm using a 3/32" mono audio connector, just because it fit nicely into the casing of the laptop. But an 1/8" will work.
