    Post Delorme GPS Tripmate

    Gudday,
Just wondering how these units are operating, it has been a while since the first posts about them so I thought I would see how they were going before I sent away for one.
    Cheers,
    Me

    Gudday,
Well as backwaters as we are, there maps available for major cities, but I also intend on using it in my boat, where it won't really matter...There are a few proggies where you can scan maps (can't remember the scale needed), set a coupple of reference points and use them like normal, not as good as the maps you get in the states butttt. Also they will ship to aussie, it is still bout half the price of buying one over here...
    Cheers,
    Fab'

dyndns.org is a service that you can use to do name resolution even if you do not have a static IP address. I would hypothesize that he hosts his own site on a computer with broadband internet access and dynamic IP address. You probably can't get to his site because his computer is off or temporarily disconnected from the net.
