    winamp as gui

    Hello once again,

    I was looking through here the other day and saw that there is some way to make winamp boot as the gui, and also to have it load a specific playlist on boot. I can't find it anywhere, and was wondering if some1 could tell me how to do both of these things.

    Thanks

    Well, Im not sure about the gui thing but I know its possible. Ask mp-ford or mp-chevy. Downlaod Mirc and chat in #mp3car . But if you want to autostart a playlist, simply put the playlist in the startup folder. It works fine with me.

    ok.. here it is...
    in the system.ini set the shell = the path and name of winamp. See below:

    [boot]
    oemfonts.fon=vgaoem.fon
    system.drv=system.drv
    drivers=mmsystem.dll power.drv
    shell=c:\program files\winamp\winamp.exe
    user.exe=user.exe
    gdi.exe=gdi.exe
    sound.drv=mmsound.drv
    dibeng.drv=dibeng.dll
    comm.drv=comm.drv
    mouse.drv=mouse.drv
    keyboard.drv=keyboard.drv
    *DisplayFallback=0
    fonts.fon=vgasys.fon
    fixedfon.fon=vgafix.fon
    386Grabber=vgafull.3gr
    display.drv=pnpdrvr.drv

    hope this helps

    Off topic, but what chat server/network is the #mp3car on? I've tried DalNet and EfNet...

    Thanks!

    mdown is correct, but to make winamp load a particular playlist when it starts, you'll have to specify the path of the playlist. It'll look something like this:

    shell=c:\winamp\winamp.exe c:\mp3\mylist.m3u
