    Convert D-link to serial?

Looking for a way around problem with D-link when resuming from hibirnation due to XP not reloading USB drivers succsesfully. Would it make any difference at all if we were able to convert the d-link to a serial connection? I am not sure if it would still act as a usb device and need the drivers or not. Anyone know?
Any one tried this? can it bee done and would it fix the problems.

After a some searching found this cable that nearly does it. Anyone know of a connector to do it in one, without hacking?
