Slimline => USB adapter (will this work?)

Okay, I have a DVD/CDRW that I took off my laptop and now I need something to will go from the slimline IDE to a USB and I found this for fairly cheap off ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW ...do you think it will require you to have that power cable and is that a slimline conection on the end?

am i wrong or dose that look like a regular ide strap? That and for that price you can get a slimline usb drive in a little case. take it apart and you have the cables you need. The one i have is even bus powered. Even if you still want to use your drive the adaptor will work and power the drive but you might as well keep it for the laptop.

That is a regular IDE connector. You will need an adapter also.
