USB external sound card?

i have a epia m-10k and the intergrated sound isn't that good. just isnt loud enough, even with the volumn set all the way up. i've been looking into USB external sound card that doesnt use AC power.

are any of these good??

For $84 (w/ mail in rebate), you can get a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 NX (http://www.compuplus.com/insidepage....gle&id=1001544) which IMHO is better than both of those items products you listed).

EDIT: Sorry, didn't read that part about you wanting it to be self-powered. The audigy will require external power.

I am also looking for a good solution for a sound card that does not require a power input, and is good quality. Please help us out.

Edit: On that Soundblaster I looked at the pictures and it looks like it runs off of 5V not sure as its hard to tell. If it is 5V would it be possible to hook it up to the computers power supply?

Yes, you can hook the Audigy 2 NX directly to a 5V line of one of your power supply power leads.

That is exactly how I am powering mine off my 90W OPUS and it works great...
