1. Look for an adaptor for the connector
2. Don't know, but if it came like that, leave well enough alone.
3. Don't have much experience with a bezel... translates:???, but I think maybe you could find a tutorial on google or something.

Looks like 50pin SCSI to me. Have to run it on a SCSI card. From what I can find they don't make an adapter to convert an SCSI device to IDE only the other way around. Have to solder on your own power connection too looks like.

A quick search for "mac slim slot dvd" brought up tons of great threads about this, particularly this one:
Where to find the CORRECT laptop CDR/DVD to Desktop IDE Adapters
The adapters are getting hard to find, as allmac.com (the former supplier) doesn't have their parts catalog online anymore. But once you have the adapter, it's pretty simple - cut the tab off the IDE connector you want to use and plug it into the leftmost 40 pins of the adapter (as it's shown in the picture you attached). It isn't SCSI; the extra 10 pins are for power (which you can solder directly to the adapter, as shown in your pic) and audio (which you can do digitally over the IDE).
Seriously, try searching next time.
Thanks worked great
