Post ASTEC POWER SUPPLY FROM MPJA

    Hi All,

Has anyone on the list tried to use the power supply found at http://www.mpja.com/product.asp?product=4786+PS made by Astec and sold bt MPJA. If someone out there is using it, please let me know. I can't seem to get it to output the proper voltages. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanx
    Mike

I bought this ASTEC PS and blew it. I was just the 6.2v zener I replaced it and retested the supply worked fine until i plugged it into my car. the problem I found is that the neg. output is floating leaving (i think) 6v between input gound and output ground.
If you don't need a common ground then the supply is great, it has lots of current for such a small package.
