    Question wiring 8awg to a switch...connectors???

ok, i wanted to wire a switch into the 8awg power wire that i've got running from my battery to my amp & inverter. So, I've got this switch from Radio Shack
    http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...t%5Fid=275-712

It seems like that the easiest way to connect wires to this switch is with "quick disconnect" terminals, such as these
    http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...t%5Fid=64-3131

however, the biggest that I can find that type of connector is for 12-10awg wire.

any suggestions on what to do, or what i need? much thanks.

If you want to do it right, run it thru a relay and switch the relay with that switch. That switch might work for a while, but its not made to handle that much current for long periods of time, thats why they make relays.

12-10AWG connector will work. I know it because I am using it now. Buy the bare type connector and use with heatshink tub intead of insulated type connector.

well that was why I got a switch that was rated for 30 amps. I assumed it would be able to handle it. I did this, because I wanted to keep things as simple as possible, since i'm a newbie when it comes to basic electrical/wiring stuff.

So, to use a relay in conjunction with the switch (for the purpose of taking the heavy current away from the switch), i need to wire the switch to a separate lower-current circuit? Like I said, I'm no pro when it comes to this electrical stuff...
