    Mobile Athlon XP

Will Mobile Athlon XP processors work in standard socket a motherboards? I read somewhere they do, but i just want to verify this.

    I'm thinking about getting:

    Shuttle SK41G

    AND

Mobile Athlon XP 2400+ 512 cache

    Specs on the motherboard:

    Socket A

AMD chips are SOCKET A based and will fit this motherboard. You will want to check the manufactures site to find out what cpu's it will support...and you may have to update the bios to support some of the newer ones.

This motherboard's FSB (front side bus) is 266mhz so chances are it will only support up to a 2400+ out of the box.

Go grab the user manual from shuttle.com for it, it's listed in there, I just had to reference it the other day but am not on that machine currently...

I'd vote to go for it, they are great ssf boxes! I just installed an SK41G this weekend in my Expy. Running great so far with zero problems!

I believe the SK41G will work fine with the Mobile AthlonXP. I'd do some research to confirm it first, though.
I know the SN41G will, plus it dual video outs built in....

Not all AthlonXP motherboards will take a Mobile XP CPU. some will, some won't. Some will, but require a hardware mod on the CPU.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
