Alien8, thanks for the website but I highly doubt that will help with car mp3 players! (may help with the ladies!)

    Microchip PIC16c73 Architecture
    IDE Hard Drive (Any Size)
    Custom Hardware
    Custom Software

Boot Time: ~2 or 3 seconds
("boot" is just the time it takes the Hard Drive to spin up)

The system is controlled by an 20X4 LCD head unit. The unit is very similar to in car cd changers in wiring, form and function; no PC in your trunk that has to be booted and shutdown.

    Thumbs up MP3 player project

see www.mpic3.com for a complete Microchip PIC 18F452 based MP3 player project. The Boot time is less that 1 second & is reads its files from Compact Flash cards. It uses the VLSi VS1001 MP3 CODEC & has a colour LCD. Very nice & Very cheep to build.

Why did you post that in this thread? It really has nothing to do with the topic and the thread is 5 years old.
