Got mine! I don't think it's all that bad. I've only used the conical tip, and haven't done much practical work yet, but did a couple tests. They say not to use it on large metallic objects so I first tried it on some flat speaker wire... LOL That took maybe 3 seconds. Then I tried it on a Li-Poly cell with a short tab that I couldn't get hot enough with a 15W iron sitting on it. That took about 5 seconds and the light went dim. I think it's the NiMH batteries I put in it. Guess I should have charged them first. They say not to use rechargables, only alkalines because it's specifically designed for 6.0V, but it still worked OK. Once I learn to use it correctly, I think I'll use it more than the iso-tip or A/C irons except for small component work. Still haven't done any of that yet.
