I got one of these Cold Heat soldering irons. Looked so cool on the commercial. It's in the trash now.

Waste of money, tip broke right away, burt my finger & there was no solder on it since it wouldn't even melt the solder.
Hot enough for skin, not metal... ouch

I got one of these for Christmas and have had great luck with it. Guess it depends on how (or how much) you use it.![]()
I ordered one a few months ago and it finally arrived. I've been soldering professionally for 20 years now and can never have enough soldering irons around.Just have to say that this thing sucks! Sure, I can get it to work but I can just imagine someone new to soldering trying to get this crap to make a decent solder joint without destroying the tip or their work. I'll go back to my two butanes for portable work.
I honestly was looking forward to the wire strippers more than the iron. That was until I pulled it out the box and saw how cheap it was made. Worked great though until the third wire. The cheap roll pin holding it all together fell out. Replaced it with a nut and bolt to hold it together again and then a few more wires later the main plastic piece snapped in half. I know I've seen a quality version of this stripper somewhere. I'll buy that when I can find it again. Anyways, I'd pass on these TOOLS!
