I have a EPIA M9000 mobo. I have folowed all the instructions to get 5.1 sound. however i do not get anything but 2 channel sound when using mediacar. Now does this motherboard not up mix normal 2 channel sound to 6 channel sound?
Also, if it does not up mix sound, can the audigy 2nx be run off an opus ps since it only requires 5 volts?
Yes, it runs great off a red 5v line from one of the power leads off the OPUS. That is how I have mine setup... I bought a new power plug from Radio Shack to go into the Audigy (so I didn't have to snip the original AC Adaptor plug off) and soldered it directly to a 5v lead of one of the Molex wires (along of course with the corresponding ground as well)...Quote:

Same here. I took someone's advice from before and powered my Audigy2 from the Opus. Was very easy and works like a charm.
Hey one more quick question. Since you have a Mercedes I assume you have a bose system in there. How did you go form the audigy to your bose amp? I'm interested in what wires you used to connect the audigy to the harness. Did you use a mini jack to rca and then some sort of rca to speaker level wire converter?Quote:

Everyone kept telling me the Mercedes Bose systems were all fiber optic and I wouldn't be able to make use of the Bose wiring/amp/speakers... None of that is true, they all work fine with normal copper wiring... I later found after some research that the item that is fiber optic is the 6 disc CD Changer, all the wiring from the head unit to the Changer is 100% fiber... With the new setup, the CD Changer is ancient history now... :)
woah just cutting mini plug to mini plug give a left positive and negative and a right positive and negative? Well that makes everything much easier.
one more question for you guys that hooked up the audigy to the opus........did you throw on a fuse inline or did you just leave it?
