    ide to usb cable

i'm looking for a regular ide to usb cable to run a cd rom from the front to the rear of the car. i'm trying to find one that doesn't require external power to run the cable. i know the cd rom needs power and that's not what i mean. some of the ide to usb cables need external power to run, but usb has power in the cables themselves. thanks

Does it provide enough power to run a desktop hard drive?

No. It's not made to provide any power to the drive.

If you're still interested then check this out: H-E-R-E

It also includes a 3.5>2.5 adapter. It also has a 100-240VAC plug but by the looks if it it simply output +5V and +12V. In theory, your power supply should push the required power so you won't need the AC-DC adpater since it appears that this adapter is only used for the drive.

Yep, that's about the same thing that I linked to (except $2.01 more).

With the exception that this one is USB2.0, comes with the 2.5" adapter, and has free FedEx shipping! Your's is like four or five bucks. Mine's cheaper!

I'm not sure when you last slept. I know you were up around 5am. It's now 3pm. I know I need to go to sleep. In about an hour, I will have been up for 24 hours. I've just about double my post count today writing back and forth beween us. Wonder how much longer this is gonna go on today?
