    Emergency Install Advice needed

    Okay, so i've been working all night on my install it's !:15 and I need these answers so I can finish it tommorow.. the weekend.

    Hacked open the lilliput, hacked off the buttons, and epoxed the front of the screen to the inside of my dash (2002 Scooby WRX),
    But now I can't attach the back part of the lilliputs encasing, so the back controller part is just kinda "resting" on the back of the screen. How can I secure the controller to the lcd?

    and then another small one:
    what exactly do you secure the wires to if you are running them under the car? I have them all inside a nice conduit, are there enough places where i can just cable tie the conduit to parts of the car?

    Grats
    mobo $130 ; 150wOpus-$200 ; 256mb pc2700 -$10 ; 120gb HDD 7200-$70 ; Lilliput TS 7"-$265 ; USB LAN-Free AR ; Rikaline 6010 GPS-$34 ; ShuttleXpress-$37
    Total = $746....Carputer = Priceless

    If there isn't any good place to use zip ties, you can drill holes and use the clamps for conduit. They should be in the same section as conduit fittings.

    Batmanatthenewb has some good pics at www.samshomepage.net in Version 3. He uses the case screws through zip ties, screws those into the back of the case front and then just pulls it all down. I think that's the best design since those holes on the board don't line up with anything. It also looks like velcro between the LDC and the board to keep it from moving around.

    Thanks for the compliament. Cool thing is, if I cut the one ziptie that pulls the other four together, I have complete access to work on the unit. As far as the board I used four of the plastic motherboard support posts. You know, the ones that support the center when there is no brass post/screw setup. Put em in and added a little hot glue to keep em there. When I zip tie it all down, the board becomes a solid piece with the screen. I was real scared of the movement, and this worked out to be the best system I could come up with. The velcro is from my first attempt to attach the board to the screen. Beware, If you attach the velcro to the center portion of the screen, when you start to pull the pcb off, it will pull on the "silver" lining on the back of the monitor, and it does pull out. But, you can slide it back in. So, if you do use the velcro route, make sure your attachment points are on the edge of the screen, not the center.

    On my install in my 2004 STi, I was able to fit the controller into this radioshack hobby box which I could then secure to the screen bezel. Otherwise, as long as the ribbon and other cables are secure, you can just use some tape or rubber bands.
