I had mine in my glovebox with a vent fan out the back of it leading to some ductwork but still had heat issues. It got up to 155 degrees in my pc. Moved it under the back seat.Originally Posted by KingRudy
Ok, so I sat around on my *** all day and looked up specifications and stuff for the car PC and I decided that I can get away with turning my glove box into a computer case. I'll get the Epia MII 10000 board, the 150W opus, a dvd player (slim?), and a 3.5 HD. This way it will be easy to wire to my LCD screen and such. As for cooling in the glove box since it wont have much ventilation, I was thinking about making ventilation slats in the back of the glove box. Also, I was thinking about taking the A/C line from the feet-setting, and running a hose into the glove box (it will be unseen of course).
Anyone ever tried this? See any problems?
I have a long way until I'm ready to do my purchasing and work on the carputer... I need one small thing, $$$

I'm going to do the same exact thing. waiting for my lcd though. I have taken out the black padding of the glove box to fit my micor-atx mobo. As far as the a/c is concerned, I don't think there'll be any problems. In the winter you can always detach the hose. I'll let you know, when I'm done.Originally Posted by KingRudy

Anyone ever thought of putting fans to blow THROUGH the case (one or two to intake air, and one or two to exhaust the heat on separate sides of the glove box?

where to intake, and where to exhaust...
I am about to analyse how I will perform mine. Its a kiosk PC and I require to have the PC close to the screen, so the glovebox is kind of a must, unless I want to go a very different way then what I had in mind.
anyone had heat analysys for summer weather inside a car without air conditionner?
