Actually the Datalux receives the signal, but it needs 5.0V to turn on. With 3.3 it thinks it's in standby. So technically if you get a VGA extender/booster that should work since 99% of those output 5V.
Basically to modify it internally, you intercept the H and V sync wires and jump them up by one of several ways, though there are not really any conclusive plans and there are several different models of the LV10 series which vary internally.
