We're still waiting for the next version of Frodoplayer. I don't recall if he plans to have this feature in there or not -- hopefully he does.
Any further development on this.
Something like this would put my mind at rest for possible Police / legal matters..
The stores that install the dvd players in dash have some sort of switching system, but they are just simple dvd video.
Seems the changing laws around the different areas are in favor of the more Factory Safe systems, eliminating the homemade CarPC...
I don't plan on watching video while the car is moving, and want to ba able to defend my right to use it safely..
My car doesn't come with cupholders... so you watch the road
I would like to see a switch on parking brake alert FP or other app and disable the video ( movie / Divx / Media Player video etc... ) and just not skin in the visuals for Winamp. You could always switch to a skin that used visuals while parked.
I'd be afraid some of those Visuals in Winamp would trigger old LSD hiding in my spine. Something not so nice on the road.
I also would hate to build a system for a buddy and have them crash and the family sue you for not following a lawfull install
anyway, just looking to see if there is an update

It's out? That sneaky monkey -- I didn't even notice the release.
Now which part should I make ... the relay or the 9 pin connector?Originally Posted by GruvThang
I will be manufacturing and selling them soon.
Possibly through mp3car if ZipLock agrees.

OK, I just tried this quickly and saw it disable VIS and presumably DVD (I didn't test that part yet). This is definitely a step in the right direction. In future versions of FP hopefully we can extend this capability a bit more. For instance, we probably need to lock out and hide (if already active) the settings screens, most external applications (notepad, word, excel, etc), task switcher, picture viewer, etc. Under my interpretation of CA law (and I'm definitely not qualified to interpret law) , music and GPS are OK. Everything else is questionable at best.
Thanks for being the first developer in the community to take at shot at this Kevin!
Now the problem is if you have a MINI-itx with only 1 seriel port and have all ready plan to use it for OBDII then, you use this solution,
Is it possible to use a part of the printer port![]()
Dude, you just use a usb adapter for serial.Originally Posted by 4u2n
